Kellogg and Marshall Take On Incumbents for Eagle County's Seats at the Capitol
Two Republicans are asking Eagle County voters to send new representation to Denver this fall.
James Kellogg – Colorado House District 26
Gypsum's James Kellogg is challenging Democratic Rep. Meghan Lukens of Steamboat Springs in House District 26, which takes in Eagle, Routt, Moffat and Rio Blanco counties. Kellogg is an engineering consultant who worked as a water resource engineer for the Colorado Division of Water Resources from 2006 to 2015. He has lived in Eagle County since 2019 after about two decades in Garfield County, where he served on the Silt Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Eagle County Republican executive committee.
Kellogg entered the race in April after the original Republican candidate withdrew, and he says his top priorities are affordability, reliable energy and protecting Western Slope water. He has raised concerns about rising housing costs and property taxes, supports keeping Colorado's TABOR protections, and favors an energy approach that includes traditional industries.

Corey Marshall – Colorado Senate District 8
Rancher and businessman Corey Marshall is challenging Democratic Sen. Dylan Roberts in Senate District 8, which includes Eagle County. Marshall is a fourth-generation Coloradan who runs a horse and cattle ranch in Gilpin County and founded Tivoli Brewing Company. His campaign focuses on rural water rights, energy jobs, wolf reintroduction's impact on working ranches and the cost of living.
Marshall and Roberts met for a candidate forum on September 28 at the Ute Theatre in Rifle, answering questions submitted by the public. KDNK reports that the full forum is archived on Rifle TV for voters who want to watch it.
